Our mission at the Spanish Mustang Preserve is to preserve the Spanish Mustang breed, descendants of Spanish Mustang Registry (SMR) foundation bloodlines, for future generations.
Fountainhead Ranch
Home to The Spanish Mustang Preserve
Fountainhead Ranch is nestled in the rolling woodlands of Northern Wisconsin perched on the south shore of Lake Superior. Deeply steeped in history as a major trade route of the early settlers and Ojibwa Native Americans, the area continues to be rich in natural resources and sparsely populated.
The property of Fountainhead Ranch is a combination of pine and hardwood forests and open Midwest pastures. The horses enjoy the variety of trees, ravines, and topography.

The Spanish Mustang Preserve Inc. was founded in 2014 to provide support to these magnificent animals. Through education and increased awareness we hope to ensure that this rich piece of history will not be lost. Your generous donation will be used in direct support of Spanish Mustangs that are part of the original Spanish Mustang Registry founded in 1957. By donating your efforts will help the Spanish Mustang Preserve feed, provide veterinary care and infrastructure for the horses.
